Chery Range in Australia 2026: Tiggo 4, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8, Tiggo 9 and C5 Prices and Which One to Buy

· 0 Views · 15 min read

Chery range prices in Australia 2026

Chery now sells ten passenger models in Australia, from a Tiggo 4 small SUV at $23,990 drive away to a seven-seat Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid plug-in that tops $65,000 on the road. Nearly every nameplate comes as a cheaper petrol version and a hybrid or plug-in hybrid, so the real decision is often which powertrain, not which model.

This guide covers every current Chery on sale in Australia: Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 4 Hybrid, C5 and C5 Hybrid, Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid, Tiggo 8 Pro Max and Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid, Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid and the E5 electric SUV, plus the Stockman ute and new E5 that are coming soon. It is a buying guide and comparison, not a scored ranking.

Pricing basis: Chery publishes national drive away prices for its petrol models, the same in every state. For its hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric models it shows an estimated drive away price for your postcode. We use Melbourne (postcode 3000) for those, so expect your price to differ slightly by state. All prices are for private buyers, checked on Chery Australia's website.

How we chose

As at: Thursday 22 October 2026 (Australia/Hobart).

In scope: every Chery passenger model listed with pricing on Chery Australia's offers and model pages, plus the two models Chery lists as coming soon.

Research path: a grade by grade check of Chery Australia's offers page and each model page, including the postcode based estimate for every hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric grade. Specifications come from Chery Australia's model pages and specification tables.

Editorial approach: one price ladder for the whole range, a hybrid vs petrol comparison, then a section per model with grade prices, who it suits and what to watch for. No numeric ranking.

Source: Chery Australia offers and model pages, checked 22 October 2026. Petrol drive away prices apply to vehicles ordered by 31 December 2026. What the same grades cost in other states

Chery's postcode estimates move by a few hundred dollars between states. For example, the Tiggo 4 Hybrid Urban is estimated at $31,268 in Melbourne, $30,892 in Sydney and $30,540 in Hobart. The Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid Ultimate AWD is $65,469 in Melbourne, $65,430 in Sydney and $65,121 in Hobart.

October offers: what you actually pay

Chery's current offers end 31 October 2026 and come in three types:

  • Fuel card on petrol models: $1,500 on the Tiggo 4, and $2,000 on the C5, Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 Pro Max. Chery says the fuel card can be swapped at the point of sale for the same amount off the drive away price.

  • Cashback on hybrids and plug-ins: $2,000 on the Tiggo 4 Hybrid, C5 Hybrid and Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid, and $3,000 on the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid and Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid. Chery applies this as a reduction to the advertised drive away price.

  • Low rate finance: 0.70% comparison rate with a 10% deposit over 36 months on hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric models. Chery says this finance offer cannot be combined with the cashback, so you pick one.

That means a Tiggo 7 Urban can effectively cost $27,990 if you take the fuel card as a price reduction, and a Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid Urban drops to about $34,478 in Melbourne with the $2,000 cashback.

Fuel figures are Chery's published combined figures. The plug-in hybrid figure assumes you charge regularly. Real world fuel use depends on how you drive.

Tiggo 4 Hybrid and C5 Hybrid (self-charging): these save about 2 litres every 100km on paper. At 15,000km a year and an assumed $2.00 a litre, that is about $600 a year. Even after the $2,000 cashback, the Tiggo 4 Hybrid takes years to repay its extra cost, so buy it mainly if you do a lot of city driving or want the extra equipment.

Tiggo 7, 8 and 9 Super Hybrid (plug-in): these can run on electricity for short trips. Chery quotes up to 93km of electric range (NEDC) for the Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid, 95km for the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid and up to 170km for the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid Ultimate AWD. They make most sense if you can charge at home and mostly drive short distances. If you rarely plug in, the cheaper petrol Tiggo is usually the better buy. Our plug-in hybrid SUVs under $50,000 guide compares them with rivals.

Chery Tiggo 4: the cheapest way in

The Chery Tiggo 4 is the brand's entry SUV and one of Australia's cheapest new cars, at $23,990 drive away for the Urban and $26,990 for the Ultimate. Both use a 108kW, 210Nm 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine.

The Urban gets 17 inch alloys, seven airbags, dual 10.25 inch screens and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Ultimate adds 18 inch alloys, a 360 degree camera, heated front seats, a power sunroof and wireless charging. Chery quotes combined fuel use of 7.4L/100km.

Suits: first car buyers and anyone who wants a new small SUV with a 7 year warranty for light hatch money.

Chery Tiggo 4 Hybrid: the frugal small SUV

The Chery Tiggo 4 Hybrid uses the same small SUV body with a 1.5 litre self-charging hybrid system that needs no plugging in. Chery estimates $31,268 drive away for the Urban and $34,394 for the Ultimate in Melbourne.

Suits: couples and small families who want something more stylish than a boxy SUV.

Watch for: the boot is smaller than the Tiggo 7's, and the petrol C5 Urban is a MY25 vehicle.

Chery Tiggo 7: the value medium SUV

The Chery Tiggo 7 is a five-seat medium SUV priced at $29,990 drive away for the Urban and $33,990 for the Ultimate, which makes it one of the cheapest medium SUVs in Australia. Both use the 108kW, 210Nm 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine.

The Ultimate adds a panoramic sunroof, synthetic leather, heated and ventilated front seats, power front seats and a 360 degree camera. Chery quotes 6.9L/100km.

Suits: families who want a roomy medium SUV for small SUV money.

Watch for: the drive away prices apply to MY26 stock while it lasts, so confirm availability with your dealer.

Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid: the plug-in medium SUV

The Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid pairs a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine with an 18.4kWh battery and electric motor, so it can drive short trips on electricity. Chery estimates $36,478 drive away for the Urban and $40,646 for the Ultimate in Melbourne.

Chery quotes luggage space of 117 litres with all seven seats up, 479 litres with the third row folded (to the seatback) and 739 litres to the roof. The Ultimate adds all-wheel drive with extra drive modes and 19 inch alloys, and Chery quotes 8.7L/100km for the AWD version.

Suits: large families who need seven seats at the lowest possible price.

Watch for: the boot is tight with the third row in use, so it works best as a five seater with occasional extra seats.

Chery Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid: the seven-seat plug-in

The Chery Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid uses an 18.4kWh plug-in hybrid system in a seven-seat body. Chery estimates $46,898 drive away for the Urban and $51,066 for the Ultimate in Melbourne, with a $3,000 cashback available.

The Chery Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid is the brand's largest and most expensive SUV, a seven seater with a 1.5 litre turbo plug-in hybrid system. Chery estimates $58,268 drive away for the front-drive Elite and $65,469 for the all-wheel drive Ultimate in Melbourne.
