2026 Chery Tiggo 7 Price in Australia

The Chery Tiggo 7 is positioned in Australia as a five-seat medium SUV for buyers who want family-friendly space, modern technology and a strong equipment-to-cost proposition without moving into a larger seven-seat vehicle. The MY26 update introduced a refreshed exterior, revised cabin presentation and an updated feature mix for local buyers. At 4,540mm long, 1,870mm wide and 1,710mm high, it sits in the heart of the medium-SUV class, giving it enough road presence and passenger space for everyday family use while remaining manageable in shopping-centre car parks and urban streets.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 108kW and 210Nm, matched to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Chery lists combined fuel consumption at 6.9L/100km for the Australian model and recommends unleaded petrol of 91 RON or higher. This is a conventional petrol drivetrain rather than the separate Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid, so shoppers who want plug-in capability or an electric-only driving range should compare the two models carefully. For buyers who prefer a straightforward petrol SUV, the Tiggo 7 offers familiar refuelling and avoids the need to organise home charging.

Inside, the Tiggo 7 focuses heavily on screen-based technology and everyday convenience. The dashboard incorporates a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity available for compatible smartphones. Chery also includes its voice-command system, while dual-zone automatic climate control and rear-oriented family practicality make the cabin suitable for commuting and longer trips. The Urban grade provides the core technology package, while the Ultimate moves further upmarket with synthetic leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, powered front-seat adjustment, colour-selectable ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof and a power tailgate.

Parking and driver assistance are another major part of the Tiggo 7's Australian specification. Available systems across the range include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and prevention, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and braking, traffic-sign recognition and driver monitoring. The Ultimate adds a 360-degree around-view monitor and front parking sensors, which can make tight urban manoeuvres easier. As with any driver-assistance technology, these systems support rather than replace the driver's attention and control.

The Tiggo 7 is also designed to appeal to buyers who value a long ownership package. Chery Australia backs the vehicle with a seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, seven years of capped-price servicing and roadside-assistance coverage that can extend to seven years when the vehicle is serviced under the applicable program terms. This can help make running costs more predictable, particularly for buyers planning to keep the SUV for several years. The ability to use 91 RON petrol is another practical consideration for Australian households covering high annual distances.

Overall, the Chery Tiggo 7 is best viewed as a technology-rich, value-focused medium SUV rather than a performance-oriented model. Its strengths are the generous standard cabin technology, broad safety suite, usable five-seat packaging and an Ultimate grade with several premium-style convenience features. Potential buyers should still test the dual-clutch transmission in stop-start traffic, check whether the Urban or Ultimate equipment level better suits their needs, and compare resale expectations and dealer accessibility in their area. For Australian families seeking a new medium SUV with modern presentation and a long warranty, the Tiggo 7 deserves consideration alongside more established competitors.
