Geely adds a $1000 bonus to 0.68 per cent finance on EX2, EX5 and Starray EM-i

Geely Auto Australia is running its sharpest finance offer of the year through November and adding a short $1000 factory bonus in the middle of the month. New stock of the EX2 small electric SUV, the EX5 medium electric SUV and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid can be financed at a 0.68 per cent comparison rate, and buyers who sign between 11 and 14 November also get a $1000 bonus.

The headline rate is not as simple as it looks, though. The loan term is fixed at 36 months and a dealer origination fee of up to $1495 can apply. Here is what the deal is really worth.

What Geely is offering in November

The finance, charging credit and novated lease terms are published on Geely's offers page. All offers exclude fleet, government and rental buyers. Geely also has pre-order offers for the coming Monjaro EM-i and Emgrand L EM-i, including a complimentary home charger, which run until 31 December.

What 0.68 per cent finance actually saves

We worked out repayments for a 36-month loan with no deposit and no balloon. The 7.9 per cent column is an illustrative rate for an ordinary secured car loan, not a quote. Figures exclude fees.

Amount financedMonthly at 0.68%Interest over 3 years at 0.68%Interest over 3 years at 7.9%
$26,490 (EX2 Complete list price)About $744About $279About $3350
$37,490 (Starray EM-i Complete)About $1052About $394About $4741
$41,990 (EX5 Complete)About $1179About $442About $5310

Two things stand out. First, the short term means high monthly repayments. Second, the origination fee matters. On a $26,490 loan, a $1495 fee is more than five times the interest charged, so ask the dealer whether it applies and whether it can be waived. Geely's own fine print notes the comparison rate is based on a $30,000 loan over five years, even though only a 36-month term is offered, and that it excludes the origination fee.

For context, Geely ran a 0.09 per cent rate in October, so November's offer is slightly less generous on paper, but the $1000 bonus and novated lease discount add value for some buyers.

Which model makes the most sense

The 6 per cent novated lease discount may be worth more than the finance deal for salaried buyers. On a $41,990 EX5 it equals about $2519 before on-road costs, and for the fully electric EX2 and EX5 the EV fringe benefits tax exemption can add further savings. Plug-in hybrids such as the Starray EM-i no longer qualify for that exemption. Check our EV rebates and incentives guide for state support too.

Before you sign

  • Get the drive-away price in writing, with and without the $1000 bonus.
  • Ask whether the bonus can be combined with 0.68 per cent finance or the novated discount. Geely has not published stacking rules.
  • Confirm the origination fee and any early repayment costs.
  • Check that the car you want is in stock, because the finance applies to new stock and must settle by 8 December.

Offer terms are from Geely Australia's offers page, checked on 3 November 2026. Prices are from Geely's published list prices before on-road costs. The $1000 bonus terms were announced by Geely and were not yet listed on its offers page when we checked.
