2026 Geely EX5 Price in Australia

The Geely EX5 is a fully electric medium SUV and the model that established Geely Auto's current Australian presence. Designed around the GEA new-energy architecture, it combines a familiar five-seat SUV shape with a dedicated electric drivetrain, a spacious cabin and a technology-heavy interior. For Australian households moving from petrol or hybrid vehicles into an EV, its conventional seating position and practical packaging make the transition relatively straightforward.

The updated 2026 Australian EX5 uses a larger 68.39kWh lithium iron phosphate battery in both Complete and Inspire grades. A single front-mounted electric motor produces 160kW and 320Nm and drives the front wheels. The larger battery lifts official WLTP range to 475km for the Complete and 450km for the Inspire. The Complete is rated at 16.0kWh/100km and the Inspire at 16.9kWh/100km under the WLTP test procedure. Real-world range will vary with speed, weather, traffic, climate-control use, load and driving style.

Charging hardware supports everyday home use and public charging. The EX5 accepts up to 11kW AC charging and up to 100kW DC fast charging. Geely's updated specification quotes around 20 minutes for a 30 to 80 per cent DC charge in suitable conditions. A Mode 2 charging cable is now standard, while vehicle-to-load functionality can supply external electrical equipment at up to 3.3kW. These features are useful for camping, work equipment and other situations where portable power is valuable.

Inside, the EX5 uses a large 15.4-inch central touchscreen alongside a digital instrument display. Standard equipment across the range includes power-adjustable and heated front seats, wireless phone charging, navigation, a 360-degree camera and a comprehensive suite of active driver-assistance systems. The Inspire builds on this with 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, ventilated and massaging front seats, a passenger leg rest, ambient lighting and a 16-speaker audio system. That gives buyers a clear choice between the value-oriented Complete and the more luxurious Inspire without changing the core drivetrain.

Practicality is another important part of the EX5's appeal. The flat-folding and reclining rear seats help the cabin adapt to passengers or bulky cargo, and the second row includes useful storage solutions. The 2026 update also adds a cargo blind as standard. Seven airbags and a broad driver-assistance package support family use, and the EX5 carries a five-star ANCAP safety rating. Geely backs the vehicle with a seven-year unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year unlimited-kilometre high-voltage battery warranty under its Australian program, subject to the manufacturer's terms.

For Australian buyers, the EX5 is strongest as a well-equipped family EV that prioritises range, cabin features and value rather than outright performance. The Complete's 475km WLTP figure makes it the range leader of the two, while the Inspire exchanges some efficiency for additional comfort and convenience equipment. Its 100kW peak DC rate is lower than some newer rivals, and there is no all-wheel-drive version in the current Australian range, but the larger 2026 battery, useful V2L function and generous standard equipment make the EX5 a credible electric SUV for commuting, family duties and regional travel where suitable charging is available.
