Mini JCW Lucky 13 Edition marks Bathurst win, priced from $71,990 with 26 for Australia
Mini Australia has revealed the Lucky 13 Edition, a limited version of the John Cooper Works 3-Door built to mark 60 years since a Morris Mini Cooper S won the 1966 Gallaher 500 at Mount Panorama. Just 26 will be built, all for Australia, priced from $71,990 before on-road costs.
Some reports have called it a Bathurst edition, but its official name is the Lucky 13 Edition. The number 26 reflects the 2026 launch year, and deliveries are due in the first quarter of 2027.

The 1966 story behind the name
Australian Bob Holden and Finnish rally star Rauno Aaltonen won the 1966 Gallaher 500 in a Morris Mini Cooper S wearing number 13, and Minis filled the first nine places. Holden drew 13 from a hat before the race and had long thought of it as his lucky number, which gives the new edition its name. Holden says he hopes the car introduces a new generation to that chapter of Australian motorsport history.
Design and equipment
The Lucky 13 is painted British Racing Green with a Glazed White roof and mirror caps, white bonnet stripes and circular 13 decals. It rides on 18-inch JCW Rallye Spoke wheels in Frozen Midnight Grey and adds gloss black rear winglets, a carbon tailpipe finisher and a red JCW tow strap. Mini says production cars will have black Vescin synthetic upholstery, no roof rails and accessory bonnet stripes, and the decal position may vary slightly from the concept shown at the reveal.
Inside, it matches the regular JCW, with JCW sports seats, a 9.4-inch round OLED touchscreen, head-up display, ambient lighting, heated and power front seats with driver massage and memory, and 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio.
How to buy one
Mini will select 26 cars from the production line in October 2026 to receive the special-edition parts. They will be allocated to dealers and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The premium over a regular JCW 3-Door is about $10,500 to $11,000 depending on the grade and current list price, so the value is mostly in the rarity and the story.
It is Mini Australia’s third heritage edition of 2026, after the 30-car 1965 Victory Edition and the 40-car Oxford Edition.
