2027 Mazda 3 price and specs in Australia, more standard kit from $31,910
Mazda Australia has updated the Mazda 3 small car for 2027. The hatch and sedan are on sale now from $31,910 before on-road costs, and every grade is $300 dearer than before. In return, the entry grades pick up a bigger touchscreen, the safety systems get smarter and there is a fresh paint colour.
There are no styling changes. The current fourth-generation Mazda 3 arrived in Australia in early 2019, so this is its eighth year in showrooms. It is still one of Mazda’s strongest sellers here, although sales are down about 29 per cent on last year.
2027 Mazda 3 prices
| Grade, hatch or sedan | Price before on-road costs | Change |
|---|---|---|
| G20 Pure | $31,910 | Up $300 |
| G20 Evolve | $33,710 | Up $300 |
| G20 Touring | $37,710 | Up $300 |
| G25 Evolve SP | $37,710 | Up $300 |
| G25 GT | $40,710 | Up $300 |
| G25 Astina | $43,910 | Up $300 |
The optional Vision Technology package for the G20 Pure and G20 Evolve now costs $1,900, down from $2,000, so a Pure with the pack is $33,810 and an Evolve with the pack is $35,610. Mazda’s website has also been advertising a drive-away offer on the Pure, so check the current deal with your dealer before you buy.
What is new for 2027
The biggest change is for the G20 Pure and G20 Evolve, which swap the 8.8-inch non-touch screen for a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The Pure also gains wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, matching the rest of the range. The larger screen used to be part of the Vision Technology package, which is why that pack is now $100 cheaper.
Across the range, autonomous emergency braking can now detect motorcyclists, vehicles when turning at junctions and head-on collision risks, adding to the existing vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist and rear cross-traffic detection. The flagship G25 Astina’s adaptive LED headlights now include glare-free high beam.
Aero Grey joins the palette at no extra cost, while Ceramic and Zircon Sand are deleted. Snowflake White, Platinum Quartz, Deep Crystal Blue and Jet Black are also no-cost colours, and Polymetal Grey, Machine Grey and Soul Red Crystal cost $595.
Engines and key equipment
| Engine | Type | Outputs | Combined fuel use |
|---|---|---|---|
| G20 | 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol | 114kW and 200Nm | 5.9L per 100km |
| G25 | 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol | 139kW and 252Nm | 6.6L per 100km |
Both engines drive the front wheels through a six-speed automatic. The Pure includes 16-inch alloys, LED headlights, a head-up display, satellite navigation, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Evolve adds 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control and wireless charging, and the Touring, Evolve SP, GT and Astina include the surround-view camera, front sensors, driver monitoring and traffic jam assist as standard.
How it compares
At $31,910 the Mazda 3 still undercuts some key rivals on list price, though it does not offer the hybrid economy of the Toyota Corolla.
