Leapmotor B05 electric hatch from $35,990 drive-away with a five-star ANCAP rating
Leapmotor’s B05 electric hatchback is now on Australian roads, priced from $35,990 drive-away for the Style and $39,990 drive-away for the Design LR. Every variant carries a five-star ANCAP safety rating under the tougher 2026 to 2028 criteria, making it one of the first cars to earn the top score under the new rules.
Sold through Stellantis Australia’s 24 Leapmotor dealers, the B05 is a coupe-styled small hatch with rear-wheel drive. It joins the Leapmotor B10 SUV and the larger C10 in the brand’s local line-up.

How it compares
At $35,990 drive-away the B05 sits above the cheapest small EVs such as the MG4 Urban, but it offers rear-drive performance and a longer range than most rivals near this price. Leapmotor is also preparing a cheaper option, with the B03X small SUV due from $29,990 drive-away. See where it fits in our cheapest electric cars in Australia guide.
