GWM Range in Australia 2026: Haval Jolion, H6, H7, Tank 300 and Cannon Prices and Which One to Buy

· 1 View · 14 min read

GWM range prices in Australia 2026

GWM now sells one of the broadest line-ups of any brand in Australia, from a Haval Jolion small SUV at $23,990 drive away to a seven-seat Tank 500 four-wheel drive at $79,990, with petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric options along the way.

This guide covers every current GWM model on sale in Australia: the Haval Jolion, H6, H6GT and new H7 SUVs, the Tank 300 and Tank 500 off-roaders, the Cannon and Cannon Alpha utes and the ORA 5 SUV electric car. It is a buying guide and comparison, not a scored ranking, so we do not crown a single best GWM.

Pricing basis: GWM Australia publishes drive away prices for private buyers in Victoria, and every price in this guide uses that basis. Drive away prices in other states will differ because stamp duty, registration and CTP insurance vary, so ask your dealer for a quote in your postcode. Most prices on GWM's site are labelled as 2026 build vehicles with offers ending 31 October 2026.

How we chose

As at: Wednesday 21 October 2026 (Australia/Hobart).

In scope: every GWM passenger and light commercial model listed on GWM Australia's website: Haval Jolion, Haval H6, Haval H6GT, Haval H7, Tank 300, Tank 500, Cannon, Cannon Alpha and ORA 5 SUV.

Research path: a full scan of GWM Australia's offers page and every model page, with each grade checked one by one for its listed drive away price, powertrain and current offer. Specifications come from GWM Australia's model pages.

Editorial approach: one comparison table for the whole range, then a section for each model with grade by grade prices, who it suits and what to watch for. No numeric ranking. The new Haval H7 is treated separately because GWM has not yet listed grade prices on its website.

Quick answer: which GWM for which job

  • Lowest price of entry: the Haval Jolion Premium from $23,990 drive away, or the Jolion Premium HEV hybrid from $32,990.

  • Mainstream family medium SUV: the Haval H6 from $35,990 drive away, with petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid choices.

  • Sportier coupe styled SUV: the Haval H6GT from $46,490 drive away.

  • Boxy new hybrid with all-wheel drive: the new Haval H7, which GWM says starts below $50,000 drive away for the hybrid. Confirm grade pricing with your dealer.

  • Proper off-roader in a medium size: the Tank 300 from $47,990 drive away.

  • Seven-seat off-road wagon: the Tank 500 from $65,990 drive away.

  • Value dual cab ute: the GWM Cannon from $39,990 drive away for the dual cab, or $34,990 for the single cab chassis.

  • Bigger ute with a 3.0 litre diesel or plug-in hybrid: the Cannon Alpha from $54,990 drive away.

  • Affordable electric SUV: the ORA 5 SUV from $33,990 drive away.

How to pick the right GWM

Start with the body you need

GWM's range splits neatly into three groups. The Haval SUVs (Jolion, H6, H6GT and H7) are road-focused family cars. The Tank models are body-on-frame four-wheel drives with low range gearing for serious off-road use. The Cannon and Cannon Alpha are dual cab utes for work, towing and touring.

Match the powertrain to how you drive

Petrol is the cheapest way in across the Haval range. The self-charging hybrids suit mostly urban driving and need no change to how you refuel. The plug-in hybrids make the most sense if you can charge at home and do short daily trips, because GWM quotes electric-only range of up to 106km for the H6 PHEV and 137km for the H7 PHEV. Diesel remains the pick for heavy towing in the Tank and Cannon ranges.

Read the offer, not just the headline price

Many GWM grades currently list two alternative offers: an extra saving off the drive away price, or low rate finance. Some diesel models list a $2,000 cash bonus or $2,000 fuel card instead. You usually choose one offer, not both, so ask your dealer which applies to the exact vehicle you are buying.

Haval Jolion: the budget small SUV

The Haval Jolion is GWM's cheapest model and one of the lowest priced small SUVs in Australia, starting at $23,990 drive away for the Premium. It comes as a 1.5 litre turbo petrol or a 1.5 litre hybrid, both front-wheel drive with five seats.

Standard Premium equipment includes 17 inch alloys, a 10.25 inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, a reversing camera and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Lux adds Comfort-Tek seats. The petrol grades carry the deepest current savings, which is why the Jolion range has such a wide spread between the cheapest petrol and the top hybrid.

Suits: first car buyers, small families and anyone who wants a new SUV with a long warranty for the price of a light hatch.

Watch for: the hybrid adds $9,000 over the Premium petrol, so work out how many kilometres you drive before paying for it.

Haval H6: the mainstream family SUV

The Haval H6 is GWM's core medium SUV and the model with the widest choice of powertrains. Prices start at $35,990 drive away for the Lux petrol and run to $50,990 for the Ultra PHEV AWD.

GWM quotes up to 106km of electric-only range for the H6 PHEV and over 1,000km of total range. The H6 carries a five-star ANCAP rating, a 7 year unlimited kilometre vehicle warranty and an 8 year warranty on the hybrid battery.

Suits: families who want a roomy medium SUV with a choice of petrol, hybrid or plug-in power at one dealer.

Watch for: AWD is only offered on the top Ultra HEV and Ultra PHEV grades.

Haval H6GT: the coupe styled option

The Haval H6GT shares the H6's underpinnings but wraps them in a sloping coupe style body with a sportier cabin. There are two grades, both called Ultra, starting at $46,490 drive away.

Equipment includes 19 inch black alloys, suede-look Comfort-Tek seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360 degree camera, heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display and a hands-free tailgate. The PHEV supports 6.6kW AC charging and 48kW DC fast charging.

Suits: buyers who want H6 practicality with a sportier look and a high standard equipment list.

Watch for: the sloping roof costs some rear headroom and boot height against the regular H6.

Haval H7: the new boxy hybrid

The all-new Haval H7 is GWM's newest SUV, a boxy five seater that sits alongside the H6 and brings Hi4 all-wheel drive to every grade. It is offered as a 1.5 litre turbo hybrid or plug-in hybrid in Lux and Vanta grades.

GWM has said the H7 range will start below $50,000 drive away for the hybrid, but its website currently asks buyers to contact a dealer for pricing on every grade. GWM quotes 320kW and 670Nm for the PHEV, 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds and up to 137km of electric-only range. A 15.6 inch touchscreen, 360 degree camera, locking rear differential and a tailgate-mounted full-size spare are part of the package. Read our H7 arrival story for the launch details.

Suits: families who want a hybrid SUV with standard all-wheel drive and some light off-road ability.

Watch for: grade prices and equipment lists are still being finalised, so get a written drive away quote before you commit.

Tank 300: the medium off-roader

The Tank 300 is a genuine body-on-frame four-wheel drive with low range gearing and locking differentials, priced from $47,990 drive away. It now comes with diesel, petrol and plug-in hybrid power.

GWM quotes 300kW and 750Nm for the Hi4-T plug-in hybrid, up to 115km of electric driving range on the NEDC test and a 3,000kg braked towing capacity. The Tank 300 carries a five-star ANCAP rating.

Suits: weekend off-roaders who want a compact, well-equipped four-wheel drive that is still easy to park.

Watch for: the five seat cabin and boot are modest for family touring, so check luggage space against your needs.

Tank 500: the seven-seat four-wheel drive

The Tank 500 is GWM's largest and most expensive SUV, a seven-seat body-on-frame four-wheel drive priced from $65,990 drive away. The new 3.0 litre turbo diesel joins hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.

Suits: large families and caravan towers who want a seven-seat body-on-frame four-wheel drive at this price.

Watch for: the plug-in hybrid drops to five seats, so pick the diesel or hybrid if you need the third row.

GWM Cannon: the value dual cab ute

The GWM Cannon is the brand's mainstream ute, with drive away prices starting at $34,990 for the Premium single cab chassis and $39,990 for the Premium dual cab. A new plug-in hybrid now tops the range.

GWM quotes 135kW and 480Nm for the 2.4 litre diesel, which drives through a 9 speed automatic. The Cannon PHEV makes 310kW and 750Nm with up to 115km of electric-only range (NEDC). Braked towing is rated at up to 3,500kg (3,200kg for the 2.0 litre Premium) and the Cannon has a five-star ANCAP rating.

Suits: tradies, families and weekend tourers who want a well-equipped dual cab ute at a sharp drive away price.

Watch for: the entry Premium uses a smaller 2.0 litre diesel with a lower 3,200kg towing rating, so check it against your trailer before you buy.

Cannon Alpha: the bigger ute

The Cannon Alpha is a larger ute than the Cannon, with more cabin space, a 3,500kg braked towing capacity and a choice of diesel or plug-in hybrid. Prices start at $54,990 drive away.

The new 3.0 litre turbo diesel makes 170kW and 620Nm, with peak torque held from 1,400 to 2,400rpm. The cheapest Cannon Alpha is now the Ultra with the older 2.4 litre diesel, which carries a $4,000 saving while stocks last.

Suits: buyers who tow heavy loads or want a roomier ute with plug-in hybrid or the new 3.0 litre diesel.

Watch for: the 2.4 litre Ultra is run-out 2026 build stock, so compare it closely with the new 3.0 litre Lux Diesel before deciding.

ORA 5 SUV: the affordable electric option

The ORA 5 SUV is GWM's electric small SUV, priced from $33,990 drive away. It uses a 150kW, 260Nm front motor and a 58.33kWh battery.

GWM quotes up to 435km of range on the WLTC test, 10 to 80 per cent DC charging in about 30 minutes on a 120kW charger, a 362 litre boot, a 750kg braked towing capacity and 6kW vehicle-to-load. The ORA 5 battery has an 8 year unlimited kilometre warranty.

Suits: city drivers who can charge at home and want an electric SUV close to petrol SUV money.

Watch for: the range figure uses the WLTC test, which usually reads higher than the WLTP figures most rivals quote, so expect less in real driving.

Which GWM should you buy?

For the lowest price: the Haval Jolion Premium at $23,990 drive away is the cheapest way into a new GWM.

For most families: the Haval H6 Lux HEV at $40,990 drive away balances price, space and fuel use. If you can charge at home, the H6 Lux PHEV at $44,990 adds meaningful electric range.

For off-road touring: the Tank 300 Lux Diesel at $47,990 is the entry point, while the Tank 500 diesel adds a third row from $65,990.

For work and towing: the Cannon Lux at $41,990 drive away is the value pick for a 2.4 litre dual cab, and the Cannon Alpha Lux Diesel at $58,990 suits heavier towing.

For going electric: the ORA 5 SUV Lux at $33,990 is GWM's cheapest electric car.

Warranty and servicing

GWM backs its vehicles with a 7 year unlimited kilometre warranty. GWM also lists an 8 year battery warranty for hybrid models such as the H6 and an 8 year unlimited kilometre battery warranty for the ORA 5 SUV. Check your dealer's capped price servicing schedule for your chosen model, as service intervals differ between petrol, diesel and electrified powertrains.
