Leapmotor C10 gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Australia from 2027
Leapmotor Australia has confirmed the Leapmotor C10 will finally get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, starting with the 2027 model year. The missing smartphone mirroring has been one of the most common complaints about the mid-size electric and range-extender SUV since it launched here in late 2024.
Head of Leapmotor Australia Andy Hoang said most original buyers bought the C10 knowing it lacked the feature, but it was one of the key requests in the segment, so the MY27 car will add it.
Why the current C10 can’t get it
The current C10 runs Leapmotor’s older LEAP 3.0 electronic architecture, which cannot support native smartphone mirroring. Leapmotor has said this is a hardware limit, so an over-the-air update will not add it. C10s built before the 2027 model year will stay without CarPlay and Android Auto.
The MY27 car moves to the LEAP 3.5 architecture already used in newer models such as the Leapmotor B10 and the upcoming Leapmotor B03X.
What the MY27 C10 adds overseas
| Item | Global MY27 update |
|---|---|
| Smartphone mirroring | Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto |
| Software | LEAP OS 4.0 Plus with improved voice assistant |
| Screen | 14.6-inch central touchscreen |
| Safety | Five new driver assistance functions and upgraded sensors |
| Practicality | New dual-level boot floor |
| Powertrain | Better range and faster charging on selected versions |
| Australian timing | Not confirmed, expected in early 2027 |
Leapmotor has not confirmed which of these upgrades will reach Australia or which local variants will get them. Pricing, specs and arrival timing for the 2027 C10 here are still to be announced, so the early 2027 timing is expected rather than confirmed.
What it means for buyers
The update should make the C10 a much easier sell against rivals that already offer phone mirroring. Recent industry figures show the C10 has been one of the slowest sellers in its class this year. If you want the most powerful version, our C10 AWD Sports+ report covers the limited-edition model returning in November. If CarPlay matters to you, it may be worth waiting for the MY27 car or negotiating hard on current stock.
