XPeng G9L three-row SUV confirmed for Australia, with first deliveries targeted for early 2027
XPeng has confirmed its new G9L flagship SUV for Australia. Revealed at the Paris Motor Show this week, the G9L becomes the brand's first large three-row SUV locally and will sit above the XPeng G6 medium SUV and alongside the XPeng X9 people mover.
XPeng Australia named the G9L as part of a five-model rollout in its local strategy announced in July. First customer deliveries are expected from early 2027, while Australian pricing, grades and final specifications will be confirmed in the coming months.
Size and seating
The G9L measures 5120mm long, 1998mm wide and 1788mm tall on a 3100mm wheelbase, making it one of the largest family SUVs on sale here. Globally it is offered with six or seven seats across three rows. The second row is heated, ventilated and massaging, and the third row has power adjustment.
| Dimension | XPeng G9L |
|---|---|
| Length | 5120mm |
| Width | 1998mm |
| Height | 1788mm |
| Wheelbase | 3100mm |
Electric and range-extender versions
Overseas the G9L is sold as a fully electric SUV and as a range-extender electric vehicle. In the range-extender version a small petrol engine works only as a generator and never drives the wheels. Global figures quote a 63kWh battery with up to 287km of electric range and up to 1200km of combined range on the WLTP test.
The fully electric model uses a 110kWh battery and an 800-volt platform for fast charging. Both versions are quoted at 430kW and 695Nm. Towing capacity is 2000kg in European specification.
What we still do not know
XPeng has not confirmed which powertrain or seating layout Australia will get, or local pricing. The brand also plans to bring its advanced driver assistance system to Australia during 2027, but has not said whether it will be available when the G9L launches.
Rivals
In electric form the G9L will be one of only a few large three-row electric SUVs here. Browse electric SUVs on sale now, or compare the X9 if you need a seven-seat XPeng today.
