2027 Kia Seltos goes hybrid-only in Australia from $39,990 drive-away

Kia Australia has put drive-away estimates on its all-new Seltos Hybrid page, with the small SUV due in showrooms this month as a hybrid-only range. The entry S grade is listed from $39,990 drive-away. The flagship GT-Line with e-AWD is listed from $55,490 drive-away.

Those figures sit on Kia Australia’s coming-soon page for the 2027 Seltos. The same page labels every grade with a 1.6-litre hybrid system. Front-wheel drive covers the S through GT-Line FWD grades. Only the GT-Line AWD is listed with e-AWD.

This article uses Kia’s published drive-away estimates only. It does not mix those figures with before-on-road list prices from elsewhere, and it does not invent fuel use, system power or a full equipment walk that the official page has not yet published.

Official drive-away estimates for the Australian range

Kia Australia presents the line-up as six grades. Each line is a Drive Away estimate from the figure on the brand’s Australian site, not a before on-road list price on that page.

Kia’s footnote on that page says the drive-away prices are valid until 31 October 2026 at participating Kia dealers. The estimate includes 12 months’ registration, a CTP insurance estimate for a private buyer with a good driving record, stamp duty, and statutory and dealer delivery charges. Prices may vary with individual circumstances. The offer is for private buyers only. Full terms sit on the Kia website or with a Kia dealer, and Kia can change, supersede or extend the offer.

Treat every dollar figure above as that estimated nationwide drive-away package for the stated period, not as a bare list price before on-roads.

Hybrid only for Australia, arriving in October

Kia Australia’s page says the all-new Seltos is arriving in October. It frames the car as a small hybrid SUV with localised tuning from the brand’s Australian ride and handling program, Kia Connect telematics with over-the-air updates, and second-row reclining seats among the features called out on the page.

There is no petrol-only grade on that Australian pricing table. Every line is 1.6L Hybrid. That is the cleanest reading of the official Australian product page right now. Buyers who still want the outgoing petrol Kia Seltos should check dealer stock separately, because this article is about the new hybrid range, not runout of the previous generation.

What the official page still leaves open

As checked on 3 October 2026, Kia Australia’s Seltos Hybrid coming-soon page does not publish combined fuel use, system kilowatt figures, a transmission type, boot volume, tow rating or a grade-by-grade equipment list. It also does not publish before on-road recommended prices besides the drive-away estimates.

Until those details appear on the official Australian site or in an official Australian specification sheet, this article will not present media-reported power outputs or before on-road dollars as Kia brochure facts. The honest summary is hybrid-only pricing and drivetrain labels on the Kia Australia page, with fuller local specifications still to come.

Where the Seltos Hybrid sits against familiar rivals

Shoppers comparing small hybrid SUVs in Australia will usually look at the related Hyundai Kona Hybrid and the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid range. Those are different brands with their own price types and current offers, so do not line a Kia drive-away estimate against another maker’s before on-road list without saying so.

Inside Kia’s own showroom, the larger Sportage remains a separate medium SUV story, including hybrid grades that are not this small Seltos. For a broader running-cost frame across powertrain types, see our guide to petrol, hybrid and electric running costs in Australia.

The news for Australia is simple. The next Seltos is hybrid-only on Kia’s local page, it is due this month, and the brand’s own drive-away estimates start at $39,990 for the S and climb to $55,490 for GT-Line AWD, with the offer framed to 31 October 2026 at participating dealers for private buyers.

Confirm the current estimate, options and any Safety Pack content with a participating Kia dealer before you order. The official page can still add fuel figures, power and a full equipment walk after showroom stock arrives.

Hyundai will not import the Ioniq 3 to Australia, reversing an early 2027 plan. Hyundai Australia told media that sourcing the hatch from Türkiye does not work in a price-sensitive small EV segment. No Australian price was ever published.
