Renault Symbioz campaign drive-away prices start at $35,990 until 31 December
Renault Australia is advertising campaign drive-away prices for the Symbioz hybrid SUV through 31 December 2026. On the hybrid offers page checked on 3 October 2026, the Techno mild hybrid is $35,990 drive-away, the Techno full hybrid E-Tech is $41,990 drive-away, and the Esprit Alpine full hybrid E-Tech is $45,990 drive-away.
Those amounts are campaign drive-away prices for set conditions, not recommended retail prices before on-road costs. Renault Australia has not, on the pages checked today, published an earlier comparable drive-away price together with a stated dollar change. This article therefore sets out the current offer only.
Campaign drive-away prices on the official offers page
The figures below are the ones printed on Renault Australia’s hybrid offers page, and they match the legal footnotes on that page. Each one is a campaign drive-away price at participating dealers for new stock, while stocks last. Renault says it can vary, extend or withdraw the offers at any time.
Grade | Campaign drive-away price |
|---|---|
Techno mild hybrid | $35,990 |
Techno full hybrid E-Tech | $41,990 |
Esprit Alpine full hybrid E-Tech | $45,990 |
The Techno mild hybrid and Techno full hybrid footnotes both require no-cost paint and no added options. The Esprit Alpine footnote requires no added options. It does not repeat the words no cost paint. The purchase and delivery window is 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2026. The Techno full hybrid footnote writes the start as 1 October and the end as 31 December 2026.
The Symbioz footnotes on that offers page do not say the campaign is closed to fleet, government or rental buyers. Other Renault campaigns on the same page do include that line. Ask the selling dealer who can use this price before you assume a business buyer is in or out.
The homepage card does not match its own footnote
On the Renault Australia homepage, also checked on 3 October 2026, the Symbioz Techno mild hybrid card still reads 'From $39,990 Driveaway next to the D1 marker. The D1 footnote on that same homepage states $35,990, with the same 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2026 window, new stock only, no cost paint and no added options.
A card and a footnote that disagree are not an official before-and-after price. Use the footnote, the offers page, and a written dealer quote. Do not treat $39,990 on the card as either the offer or a proven earlier drive-away price.
June list prices are a different kind of number
Renault Australia’s 17 June 2026 price and specs note set recommended retail prices before on-road costs. The Techno mild hybrid was $36,990 plus on-road costs, the Techno full hybrid was $42,990 plus on-road costs, and Esprit Alpine was $45,990 plus on-road costs.
A price plus on-road costs is not a drive-away price. On-road costs such as stamp duty, registration and dealer delivery sit on top of that list figure and vary by state and buyer. Subtracting a June list price from an October drive-away price does not produce a verified change, because the two numbers do not include the same things. The June note also does not describe this October campaign.
Western Australia and the Esprit Alpine footnote
There is a second mismatch on Esprit Alpine. The Symbioz model page footnote for the $45,990 campaign says it excludes Western Australia. The hybrid offers page footnote for the same grade, the same amount and the same dates does not include that exclusion. The homepage footnote checked today also omits it.
If you are buying in Western Australia, confirm with a participating dealer whether the Esprit Alpine drive-away figure applies there. Do not assume the offers page overrides the model page, or the other way around, until the dealer puts the price in writing.
What the two hybrid systems are
The June note, which is still Renault Australia’s published specification for this model, describes two front-wheel-drive hybrids. The mild hybrid uses a turbocharged 1.3 litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 104 kW and 245 Nm, a seven-speed dual-clutchdual-clutch automatic, and 12 volt micro hybrid assistance. Renault lists 6.4 L/100 km combined, 144 g/km of CO2, and 9.4 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. Braked towing is 1500 kg. It needs 95 premium unleaded.
The full hybrid E-Tech, on Techno and Esprit Alpine, pairs a 1.8 litre petrol engine rated at 80 kW and 170 Nm with a 36 kW and 205 Nm electric motor and a 1.4 kWh battery. Combined output is 116 kW and 265 Nm. Renault lists 4.7 L/100 km combined, 107 g/km of CO2, 9.1 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, and up to 1000 km of WLTP driving range. Braked towing is 1000 kg. It also needs 95 premium unleaded. Renault said this was the first full hybrid it had offered in Australia, and that electric drive is favoured in the initial pull-away to about 60 km/h.
Those consumption and range figures are laboratory claims for comparison with other cars on the same test. They are not a promise of what you will see on an Australian commute. For a plain-language look at how hybrid running costs differ from petrol and electric, see petrol, hybrid and electric running costs.
Space, screens and what sits outside the campaign price
Renault lists the Symbioz at 4412 mm long, 1797 mm wide and 1567 mm high, with a 2639 mm wheelbase. The rear bench slides 16 cm. Boot space is not the same on both powertrains. The Techno mild hybrid is 563 litres at the minimum, 695 litres with the seat slid forward, and 1668 litres with the seat stowed. Full hybrid grades are 460 litres, 592 litres and 1546 litres on those same three measures.
Standard equipment in the June note includes a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 10.4-inch touchscreen, wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in, a wireless phone charger, and a heated steering wheel. Safety items listed as standard include six airbags, lane keeping assistance, forward and reverse autonomous emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.
Esprit Alpine adds or replaces items, including a 360-degree camera, hands-free parking, a powered tailgate, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, a Harman Kardon nine speaker system and 19-inch alloy wheels. The techno grades in that note use 18-inch alloys.
Options in the June note are recommended retail prices, not part of the drive-away campaign. The Solarbay glass roof is $2000. A powered tailgate is $600 on Techno and standard on Esprit Alpine. Flame Red is no extra cost. Other named paints are $900. Because the campaign is for no added options, a roof, a tailgate or a priced paint can take the car off the drive-away figure above. The dealer has to price that car separately. Do not add an option’s list price to $35,990 and call the total a drive-away price.
Warranty, and how it sits among other small SUVs
Renault Australia’s published cover for the Symbioz is five years with unlimited kilometres. Service intervals are 12 months or 30,000 km, whichever comes first. The 1.4 kWh battery on full hybrid grades is covered for eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first. The model page also lists five years of roadside assistance and a five year connected services period for Google and My Renault features, with the usual data and coverage limits.
The Symbioz is not on the AussieMotor new car pages yet. Shoppers comparing other Renault hybrids already listed can look at the Renault Arkana. In the wider small SUV set, the Hyundai Kona Hybrid and the Toyota Corolla Cross are the nameplates buyers usually put beside it. Our round-up of hybrid SUVs under $50,000 is a place to compare equipment and price types. Read each price as drive-away or as before on-road costs. Mixing those two is how a gap looks larger or smaller than it is.
What to confirm before you sign
Get the grade, paint and options in writing, then check that the quote still matches the campaign footnote.
Confirm the car is new stock and that both purchase and delivery fall on or before 31 December 2026.
In Western Australia, confirm the Esprit Alpine amount separately.
Ignore the homepage card if it still shows $39,990 beside a footnote of $35,990.
Treat June figures of $36,990, $42,990 and $45,990 as list prices plus on-road costs, not as drive-away prices and not as a published change.
The offer that is actually written down today is a drive-away campaign from $35,990 for a Techno mild hybrid with no cost paint and no added options, up to $45,990 for an Esprit Alpine with no added options, for new stock bought and delivered by 31 December 2026, while stocks last, at participating dealers.
