The all-new Mitsubishi Pajero arrives in Australian showrooms in December 2026, and Mitsubishi says it will be offered with a range of genuine accessories designed for Australian conditions. Trade reports of a Mitsubishi Motors Australia statement say 20 genuine accessories were developed locally. Autotalk reports Mitsubishi’s accessories engineering manager as saying the locally made steel bullbars keep the Pajero’s full driver assistance functionality. Accessory prices have not been announced.

This is the new Pajero, the large four-wheel drive that brings the nameplate back, not the existing Pajero Sport.

What Mitsubishi has confirmed

Mitsubishi’s All-New Pajero page says the car “will be unleashed in December 2026”. It describes “a wide range of Mitsubishi Genuine Accessories”, “designed for Australian conditions and developed specifically for Pajero”.

The page lists four grades: GLS 5, GLS 7, Exceed and GSR. Customers who order at a participating dealer before 15 December 2026 are promised three years of complimentary servicing and $1,000 worth of accessories, with conditions. Mitsubishi notes that the images on the page show overseas models.

The locally developed accessories

According to WhichCar and Autotalk, which reported a Mitsubishi media statement, the Australian team began working with Mitsubishi’s Japanese head office in early 2022. That early start meant pre-wiring, mounting points and the vehicle structure could be designed around Australian equipment such as bullbars and towing gear.

Autotalk lists the 20 locally developed accessories as follows.

Type

Items reported

Front protection

Hooped and hoopless steel front protection bars (bullbars), black and polished nudge bars

Body protection

Side protection bar, under-ride protection, headlamp protector, bonnet protectors in clear, tinted and matte black

Lighting

Driving lamps, LED light bar

Touring and recovery

Roof rack, snorkel, winch cradle

Towing

Tow bar, tow bar harness, electric brake harness, weight distribution hitch

Autotalk says the front protection bars, winch cradle, weight distribution hitch, headlamp protector, bonnet protectors and driving lamps are made in Australia.

Bullbars that keep the safety systems working

The most useful detail for buyers is the bullbar. Autotalk reports that Steve Pearson, Mitsubishi Motors Australia’s accessories engineering manager, said the steel front protection bars keep the Pajero’s full driver assistance functionality. He said: “We wanted something genuinely tough and functional, but we also knew from the beginning that it had to work with Pajero’s driver assistance technology.”

He also said the bar has “no compromise to the Pajero’s active safety systems”. Mitsubishi’s own Pajero page does not yet spell this out, so ask a dealer to confirm it for the bar you choose.

Towing a caravan

Mitsubishi also worked on the Pajero’s frame to suit Australian towing. Autotalk reports the local team helped reinforce the structure for the tow bar and developed a genuine weight distribution hitch. The towbar also supports the off-road couplings used by many caravanners. An electric brake harness is included in the range, so check how the trailer brake controller will be fitted for your setup.

What is not confirmed yet

Mitsubishi has not published accessory prices. We have also not been able to confirm Australian pricing for the Pajero on Mitsubishi’s own site, so we have not quoted figures. Warranty terms for accessories should be confirmed with a dealer, because accessory warranty conditions can differ from the vehicle warranty.

For more on the new car as details are confirmed, check Mitsubishi’s Pajero page or ask a Mitsubishi dealer.
