Zeekr 7GT to undercut 7X in Australia, but exact electric wagon prices remain unannounced

Zeekr plans to price every Australian 7GT electric wagon below the matching 7X SUV, according to comments from its local managing director reported by carsales. That gives buyers a clearer picture of how the shooting brake will sit in the range, but Zeekr has not announced a dollar price for any 7GT variant. The company expects to launch the model in the fourth quarter of 2026, with first customer deliveries in the first quarter of 2027.

The 7GT is a lower, sleeker alternative to the 7X. Three Australian variants are planned: RWD, Long Range RWD and Performance AWD. Zeekr’s Australian 7GT page is accepting expressions of interest, which the brand says are not orders and do not guarantee allocation or priority access.

How much cheaper than the Zeekr 7X will it be?

The size of the gap is unknown. Zeekr Australia and New Zealand managing director Frank Li told carsales that each 7GT grade would be priced below its 7X counterpart, while acknowledging that prices had not been fully finalised. That is an attributed pricing intention, not an official Australian 7GT price list.

For reference, the currently published Zeekr 7X prices are $57,900 for RWD, $63,900 for Long Range RWD and $72,900 for Performance AWD, each before on-road costs. Zeekr 7GT Australian variants and claimed range

Australian launch reporting sets out the following specifications. Ranges are manufacturer-claimed WLTP figures and will vary in real-world use. Buyers should check the final Australian specification sheet when Zeekr releases it.

The Performance AWD is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. Zeekr’s Australian product page advertises a 10–80 per cent DC charging time as low as 15 minutes on a 420 kW charger, specifically for the Long Range RWD and Performance AWD. That is not a charging-time promise for every variant or public charger.

Wagon practicality versus the 7X SUV

At 4,817mm long and 1,456mm tall in the reported specification, the 7GT has a lower profile than the 7X. Its quoted boot capacity is 456 litres, expanding to 1,390 litres with the rear seats folded. Zeekr Australia lists 539 litres and 1,978 litres respectively for the 7X SUV. Buyers who need maximum cargo capacity should inspect both cars, while those drawn to a lower vehicle may favour the wagon.

Both fit into Zeekr’s Australian new-car range, though that directory currently lists the on-sale X, 7X and 009. The 7GT is taking expressions of interest while buyers await a final price and order details.

Warranty, safety and what buyers should check

Zeekr’s Australian 7X page lists a five-year/unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty. Carsales reports the same periods, plus five years of roadside assistance, for the coming 7GT. Buyers should check the model-specific Australian terms and exclusions when final sale documents become available. The 7GT has earned a five-star Euro NCAP rating, but no Australian 7GT ANCAP result was identified in the published ratings checked for this article. The 7X’s five-star ANCAP result does not automatically apply to the 7GT. No Australian 7GT-specific recall notice was identified ahead of first customer deliveries.

Zeekr’s Australian price announcement will establish how much each 7GT actually undercuts its 7X counterpart on the same before-on-road-cost basis.
