2027 Audi Q4 e-tron cuts entry price by $13,250 to $71,650 in Australia
Audi Australia has repriced its updated Q4 e-tron electric SUV, with the range now opening at $71,650 before on-road costs. That is $13,250 less than the outgoing Q4 45 e-tron SUV, and unusually the coupe-style Sportback costs exactly the same as the SUV in rear-drive form.
The dual-motor quattro versions are cheaper too, at $81,650 for the SUV and $83,250 for the Sportback. Quattro orders are open now, while first deliveries of the updated range are scheduled for the first half of 2027.
2027 Audi Q4 e-tron prices
| Model | Price before on-road costs | Saving |
|---|---|---|
| Q4 e-tron SUV | $71,650 | $13,250 less than the Q4 45 e-tron |
| Q4 Sportback e-tron | $71,650 | $14,850 less than the Q4 Sportback 45 e-tron |
| Q4 e-tron quattro SUV | $81,650 | Up to $24,250 less than the Q4 55 e-tron quattro |
| Q4 Sportback e-tron quattro | $83,250 | Up to $24,250 less than the Q4 Sportback 55 e-tron quattro |
The headline quattro saving of $24,250 compares the new price with the original list price of the outgoing Q4 55 e-tron quattro. That model was later repriced to $99,818, so against its final list price the saving is $18,168 for the SUV and $16,568 for the Sportback. Either way, every new Q4 now costs less than the old entry model did.
How Audi got the price down
The cheaper entry point is not just a discount. The new rear-drive Q4 e-tron replaces the Q4 45 with a 150kW and 350Nm motor, down from 210kW and 545Nm, and a smaller 63kWh battery with 59kWh usable, down from 82kWh gross. It can DC fast charge at up to 160kW, with Audi quoting 10 to 80 per cent in about 27 minutes.
Audi Australia has not published a local range figure for the rear-drive model. The equivalent European car is rated at up to 440km on the WLTP cycle for the SUV and 451km for the Sportback, so Australian figures are expected to land close to that.
Quattro specs and range
| Spec | Q4 e-tron | Q4 e-tron quattro |
|---|---|---|
| Motors | One, rear | Two, front and rear |
| Power and torque | 150kW and 350Nm | 250kW, with 134Nm front and 545Nm rear |
| Battery (gross and usable) | 63kWh and 59kWh | 82kWh and 77kWh |
| Max DC charging | 160kW | 185kW |
| 10 to 80 per cent charge | About 27 minutes | About 27 minutes |

| WLTP range | Not yet published locally | 494km SUV, 509km Sportback |
The quattro keeps the larger battery from the old Q4 55, but peak DC charging rises from 175kW to 185kW and battery preconditioning can now be switched on automatically or manually. It also adds an S line exterior, 20-inch wheels, sports front seats, adaptive dampers, progressive steering and an augmented-reality head-up display.
More standard equipment
Every 2027 Q4 gets 19-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, an electric tailgate with gesture control, heated and electrically adjusted leather-appointed front seats with driver memory, three-zone climate control and ambient lighting. Inside there is a 12.8-inch touchscreen, an 11.9-inch digital instrument display, wireless smartphone mirroring and cooled wireless phone charging. A 360-degree camera and a trained parking function that can retrace up to 50 metres are now standard, and an optional passenger screen is available.
Why the $75,000 mark matters
The new pricing is aimed squarely at novated lease buyers. Electric cars under the fuel-efficient Luxury Car Tax threshold currently qualify for a full fringe benefits tax exemption, but from 1 April 2027 the full exemption is set to apply only to electric cars priced under $75,000, with more expensive models up to the threshold getting a partial discount. At $71,650 the rear-drive Q4 sits inside that cap, while the quattro models are expected to qualify for the reduced concession instead.
Pre-launch offer and rivals
Customers who order a Q4 e-tron quattro during 2026 receive a complimentary six-year, 90,000km service plan. Ordering details for the rear-drive model are yet to be announced. In Audi’s own range the larger Q6 e-tron sits above it, while rivals include the BMW iX1 and the upcoming electric Mercedes-Benz GLA.
