2026 JAC T9 Price in Australia

JAC T9 is the model that re-established JAC in the Australian ute market and remains the brand’s core diesel workhorse. The range now extends beyond the original Oasis and Haven dual-cabs to include Osprey and Osprey X lifestyle variants plus Oasis and TradePro cab-chassis models. That breadth means the T9 can be configured for family and recreational use, fleet duty or tray-back commercial applications while retaining the same basic ladder-frame platform and diesel 4x4 drivetrain.

The main Australian T9 dual-cab specification uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel producing 120 kW at 3,600 rpm and 410 Nm between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission to a dual-range 4x4 system. The drivetrain is not the most powerful in the class, but it is tuned around useful low- and mid-range torque rather than outright acceleration. Official combined fuel consumption is 7.6 L/100km, with 8.5 L/100km listed for urban driving and 7.1 L/100km for extra-urban use.

Capability varies by body style and grade. The Oasis dual-cab has a claimed 1,045 kg payload, while work-focused cab-chassis versions can carry more depending on configuration and fitted body. Braked towing capacity is rated at 3,200 kg across the core range, with 750 kg unbraked. The dual-cab measures 5,330 mm long, 1,983 mm wide with mirrors folded and 1,920 mm high, rides on a 3,110 mm wheelbase and provides 210 mm of ground clearance. Front suspension is independent double wishbone, while the rear uses a rigid axle with leaf springs to prioritise load carrying.

Standard equipment is one of the T9’s main selling points. Oasis includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a 10.4-inch touchscreen, rear differential lock, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and leather-accented seating. Haven adds items including a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, rear privacy glass, folding mirrors and a rear 220V outlet. Osprey variants take a more lifestyle-focused approach with performance-tuned suspension and additional equipment, while TradePro cab-chassis is aimed more directly at commercial users.

Safety has been a major part of JAC’s Australian marketing. The T9 achieved a five-star ANCAP rating in 2024 and uses seven airbags including a centre airbag. Its weighted ANCAP score was strong enough for JAC to promote the T9 as Australia’s safest ute based on the overall weighted total score from that test year. As with all driver-assistance systems, features such as adaptive cruise, lane support and autonomous braking are designed to assist rather than replace driver attention.

Ownership support is also competitive. JAC’s All Roads Assurance program provides seven years of unlimited-kilometre warranty coverage, including commercial use, along with capped-price servicing and roadside assistance. That is particularly relevant for tradies and fleets, where high annual kilometres can quickly reduce the value of warranties with strict distance limits.

For Australian buyers comparing Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu D-Max, GWM Cannon, Ford Ranger and other dual-cab utes, T9 stands out for standard equipment and warranty value. Its compromises are lower power and towing capacity than some mainstream rivals, a relatively basic leaf-sprung rear end and less established long-term resale history. However, for buyers prioritising safety, price and day-to-day equipment, the T9 remains one of the more aggressively specified diesel utes in its price bracket.
