2026 Denza B5 Price in Australia

The DENZA B5 brings a different formula to Australia’s premium off-road SUV market. Rather than relying on a conventional diesel powertrain, it combines a turbo-petrol engine, electric motors and BYD Blade Battery technology through DENZA’s DMO Super Hybrid system. The Australian model produces a combined 400 kW and 760 Nm and is quoted at 4.8 seconds from 0–100 km/h. It also offers a 90 km WLTC electric-only range, giving owners the opportunity to complete many shorter urban trips using electric power while retaining petrol-supported flexibility for longer journeys.

Underneath, the B5 is designed as a genuine 4X4 rather than an SUV with purely road-focused ambitions. Its body-on-frame architecture is intended to deliver the rigidity and durability expected in difficult terrain. Electrically actuated locking differentials on both axles can help maintain traction when grip is limited, while the available DiSus-P body control system adds adjustable ride height, adaptable stiffness and enhanced body control. These features make the B5 relevant to Australian buyers who travel beyond metropolitan roads, tow, tour or regularly encounter loose and uneven surfaces.

The cabin takes a noticeably more luxurious approach than many traditional off-road vehicles. Australian specifications include genuine leather upholstery, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear seats, a panoramic roof and a centre-console refrigerator and hotbox. A 15.6-inch infotainment display is paired with a 12.3-inch driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates and a four-zone voice assistant. A 16-speaker, 800-watt Devialet audio system reinforces the premium positioning.

Practical physical controls remain part of the B5 experience. DENZA provides dedicated controls for key driving functions, including the differential locks and drive modes, rather than placing every function inside the central touchscreen. This is particularly useful when the vehicle is being used on rough roads or trails. The B5 also provides a panoramic sunroof, multiple USB connections, wireless phone charging and keyless access technologies, while the higher B5 Leopard adds equipment including Nappa leather, ventilated rear seats, a digital rear-view mirror and additional convenience features.

Safety is a major part of the Australian package. The DENZA B5 has achieved a five-star ANCAP safety rating and combines a high-strength structure with a comprehensive suite of active driver-assistance technologies. DENZA also highlights its Cell-to-Chassis integration of the Blade Battery, which places the battery within a protective structural design. As with all driver-assistance systems, these technologies support rather than replace an attentive driver.

For Australian buyers, the B5 stands out by combining serious 4X4 hardware, very strong hybrid performance and an unusually feature-rich interior. Its size and weight mean it will not feel as compact or economical to manoeuvre as a conventional medium SUV, and buyers should consider charging access to make the most of its plug-in capability. However, for families, touring drivers and off-road enthusiasts wanting a premium alternative to familiar diesel 4WDs, the B5 offers a compelling mix of electric-assisted performance, comfort and capability.
