2026 Mahindra XUV700 Price in Australia

The Mahindra XUV700 is the brand’s technology-focused seven-seat family SUV in Australia. It sits above compact SUV offerings and is designed for buyers who want three-row practicality, a strong standard-equipment list and a modern cabin at a competitive drive-away price. The Australian range centres on AX7 and AX7L grades, with the higher specification adding extra comfort, audio, camera and safety equipment. Its combination of passenger capacity and equipment makes it particularly relevant to growing families.

Australian XUV700 models use a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The engine provides the easy low- and mid-range response expected from a modern turbo-petrol SUV, while the conventional automatic is intended to keep everyday driving straightforward. Buyers prioritising fuel economy should remember that a seven-seat turbo-petrol SUV is inherently heavier and less economical than a small hybrid, so the XUV700’s strengths are space, performance and value rather than minimum fuel use.

The cabin is one of the model’s main selling points. A pair of 10.25-inch displays creates a contemporary dashboard layout, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support familiar smartphone functions. The AX7L builds on the standard specification with features including ventilated front seats, a surround-view camera system, upgraded audio and additional convenience equipment. Three seating rows give the XUV700 genuine family flexibility, although luggage space naturally becomes tighter when every seat is occupied.

Safety technology is another major focus. The Australian XUV700 offers an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems suite that includes functions such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane assistance, traffic sign recognition and high-beam assistance. Higher grades add further camera and monitoring features. As with all driver-assistance technology, these systems support rather than replace the driver, but they can reduce workload during highway travel and busy daily commuting.

On Australian roads the XUV700 makes most sense as a family-oriented road SUV. Its ride, cabin features and seven-seat packaging suit school runs, commuting and interstate travel, while its front-wheel-drive layout keeps the mechanical package relatively simple. Buyers seeking low-range four-wheel-drive hardware for difficult tracks should instead consider Mahindra’s Scorpio, which has a more traditional off-road-focused architecture.

Value remains central to the XUV700 proposition. Mahindra backs its Australian passenger vehicles with a long factory warranty for eligible private buyers, and the brand continues to expand its local dealer network. Potential owners should still compare resale expectations, dealer proximity and servicing convenience with established rivals. For families comfortable with a newer challenger brand, the XUV700 offers a compelling blend of seven-seat space, strong turbo performance, useful technology and extensive standard equipment.
