2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Price in Australia

The Jeep Grand Cherokee remains one of the brand’s most recognisable premium SUVs in Australia, combining a spacious, upscale cabin with genuine four-wheel-drive capability and an increasingly electrified focus. The current Australian Grand Cherokee offering is centred on the Summit Reserve 4xe plug-in hybrid, a flagship grade that blends luxury appointments with Jeep’s established adventure credentials. For buyers who want a large SUV that feels more distinctive than many road-focused rivals, the Grand Cherokee continues to offer a mix of comfort, technology and off-road confidence.

The 4xe powertrain is a major part of the current model’s appeal. Jeep Australia quotes a combined system output of 280 kW and 637 Nm, together with an electric-only driving range of up to 52 km. Drivers can choose between Hybrid, Electric and eSave modes, allowing the vehicle to prioritise battery power, combine petrol and electric propulsion, or preserve battery charge for later use. That flexibility is useful for Australian buyers who may cover short urban trips during the week but still want the range and convenience of a petrol engine for longer highway journeys, touring or regional travel.

Capability remains central to the Grand Cherokee identity. The Summit Reserve 4xe uses a four-wheel-drive system and Jeep’s terrain-management technology, while its electrified drivetrain delivers strong low-speed torque that can be valuable away from sealed roads. Jeep also highlights underbody protection for the high-voltage components and a water-sealed battery pack designed to support demanding conditions. This makes the Grand Cherokee unusual among premium plug-in hybrid SUVs, because it is designed to balance electrification with the type of rough-road ability buyers traditionally associate with the Jeep badge.

Inside, the Grand Cherokee aims squarely at premium family-SUV buyers. The Summit Reserve specification emphasises high-grade materials, comfort-focused seating and a technology-rich dashboard. The cabin is designed to make long-distance travel more relaxed, with strong attention paid to passenger comfort, connectivity and convenience. The model’s broad stance and substantial road presence also give it a sense of occasion that will appeal to buyers who want a large SUV with a more traditional, rugged character rather than a purely urban luxury design.

Charging can be handled at home or through compatible public infrastructure. Jeep states that the supplied Mode 2 cable can fully charge the battery at home in under 10 hours, while a suitable Mode 3 wall box can reduce charging time to under three hours. For many owners, this means daily commuting can make meaningful use of electric driving while retaining the petrol engine for longer journeys. Actual electric range and fuel use will vary with driving conditions, charging frequency, weather and load.

For Australian buyers, the Grand Cherokee is best viewed as a premium plug-in hybrid SUV for those who value comfort, strong performance and real adventure capability in one package. Its size, price positioning and charging requirements mean it will not suit every household, but its combination of 4xe efficiency, Jeep capability and flagship equipment gives it a clear identity in the market. Buyers who can regularly charge at home are likely to gain the most from its electrified drivetrain in day-to-day use.
