2026 GAC EMZOOM Price in Australia

The GAC EMZOOM is one of the models that established GAC as a new-car brand in Australia, and it targets the highly competitive small-SUV segment with a simple proposition: a high level of standard equipment at an accessible price. Its exterior uses angular surfaces, split lighting elements, hidden-style door handles and a distinctive rear treatment to give it a more expressive look than many conservative compact SUVs. At 4410 mm long and 1850 mm wide, it has a substantial footprint for the class while remaining manageable for urban driving and parking.

Australian EMZOOM models use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 125 kW and 270 Nm, paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The combination gives the EMZOOM stronger on-paper outputs than many naturally aspirated entry-level rivals. Claimed combined fuel consumption has been published at about 6.6 L/100 km in Australian launch information, so the model balances useful turbocharged performance with reasonable everyday efficiency.

The local Luxury specification is deliberately generous. Equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, power-folding mirrors and rain-sensing wipers. Inside, buyers get a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, a digital instrument display, dual-zone climate control, rear air vents and a six-speaker audio system. The driver also benefits from power seat adjustment and ventilation, features that are not always standard at this price point.

Practicality is competitive for a compact SUV. The five-seat cabin provides useful rear-passenger space, while the boot offers around 341 litres with the rear seats in use and substantially more when they are folded. The relatively long wheelbase helps cabin packaging, although buyers who regularly carry bulky family gear should still compare the luggage area with larger small SUVs and medium SUVs before deciding.

Safety equipment includes six airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-support functions, front and rear parking sensors and a surround-view camera. The EMZOOM had not received an ANCAP crash-test rating in Australian launch coverage, so buyers who place strong emphasis on an independent local rating should keep that point in mind when comparing it with established competitors.

For Australian buyers, the EMZOOM's biggest strengths are equipment value, energetic turbo performance and distinctive design. The trade-offs are a newer dealer and service network, a dual-clutch transmission that may feel less smooth at very low speeds than a conventional automatic, and the absence of hybrid electrification. GAC backs the model with a long vehicle warranty, helping offset some concerns associated with choosing a newer brand. Overall, the EMZOOM is best suited to buyers who prioritise features, style and price over badge familiarity.
