2026 Fiat 500 Price in Australia

The Fiat 500 is a compact city hatchback with a long-established identity built around Italian styling, simple urban mobility and a very small road footprint. Fiat Australia continues to list the petrol 500 alongside the fully electric 500e, giving local buyers a choice between the familiar combustion-powered model and the newer electric interpretation. At 3,571 mm long, 1,627 mm wide and 1,488 mm high, with a 2,300 mm wheelbase, the petrol 500 is particularly well suited to dense Australian city environments where easy parking and manoeuvrability matter.

The current Australian technical information specifies a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 51 kW and driving the front wheels. Fiat lists combined fuel consumption at 4.8 L/100 km and combined CO2 emissions at 105 g/km under the applicable laboratory test procedure. The emphasis is not on high performance; instead, the 500 is designed to be light, easy to operate and economical in the kind of stop-start driving common in metropolitan areas.

Inside, the Fiat 500 mixes retro-inspired design with useful everyday technology. A 7-inch touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing compatible smartphones to provide navigation, calls, messages and media through the vehicle interface. Steering-wheel controls help keep common functions close to the driver, while the body-colour dashboard is one of the design details that separates the 500 from more conservative small hatchbacks. Fiat Australia also highlights the Dolcevita grade as the more complete version, adding equipment and visual details aimed at buyers who want a more premium presentation.

Safety equipment is important in a car that spends much of its time in busy urban traffic. Fiat lists seven airbags, including driver and passenger, side, window and driver’s knee airbags. Electronic stability control, ABS, Hill Holder, cruise control, a speed limiter and LED daytime running lights are among the features promoted for the current model. Equipment can vary with model year and available stock, so buyers should confirm the specification of the individual vehicle before purchase.

Fiat’s Australian material has listed a broad palette for the 500, including Gelato White, Passione Red, Vesuvio Black, Sicilia Orange, Pompei Grey, Blu Ottanio, Rugiada Green and a Bi Colour White / Black finish. Some paint colours have had production timing changes, so current stock availability can differ from the historical buyer guide. This variety reinforces the 500’s role as a style-led city car and gives buyers more opportunity to personalise its appearance than many entry-level hatchbacks.

The Fiat 500 makes the most sense for singles, couples and city-focused drivers who value compact dimensions and personality. Its rear accommodation and luggage capacity are naturally more limited than those of larger hatchbacks and small SUVs, and its modest 51 kW output means it is better suited to relaxed urban driving than effortless high-speed overtaking. For the right buyer, however, its easy-to-park size, efficient petrol engine, distinctive cabin and enduring design give it a clear niche in the Australian new-car market.
