2026 Denza D9 Price in Australia

The Denza D9 is an all-electric luxury people mover now offered in Australia in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive forms. Both versions seat seven in a 2+2+3 layout, placing two individual captain's chairs in the second row and a three-seat bench behind them. This arrangement makes the D9 especially relevant to larger families, chauffeur operators and buyers who value easy passenger access, quiet travel and long-distance comfort more than the rugged appearance of a large SUV.

Space is central to the D9's appeal. The body measures approximately 5.25 metres long, so occupants receive a genuinely generous cabin rather than a compact seven-seat compromise. The first- and second-row seats offer ventilation, massage and memory functions, while the second-row chairs add substantial adjustment and dedicated controls. Tri-zone climate control, separate front and rear roof glazing with electric sunshades, soft-close doors and a built-in refrigerator and hotbox reinforce the lounge-like character. A 14-speaker, 775-watt Dynaudio audio system and four-zone voice assistant further support its premium positioning.

Australian D9 models use a 103.36kWh BYD Blade Battery. The FWD drives the front wheels with 230kW and 360Nm, while the AWD adds a rear motor for combined outputs of 275kW and 470Nm and a claimed 0–100km/h time of 6.9 seconds. Official local figures list up to 520km of WLTP range for the FWD and 480km for the AWD. Both support 11kW three-phase AC charging and DC fast charging at up to 200kW, although real charging times depend on battery temperature, charger performance and the starting state of charge. Vehicle-to-load capability can also power compatible external appliances.

The D9's road manners are designed around calm, composed progress rather than sporty feedback. Electric propulsion removes engine noise and provides smooth response, attributes that should suit urban pickup work and long family journeys. The AWD gives stronger acceleration and added traction, but the lighter FWD travels farther on an official charge and costs less. Buyers should therefore choose according to their normal passenger load, climate, driving environment and access to charging rather than assuming the more powerful model is automatically the better fit.

Safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, cross-traffic assistance and lane-keeping support. These systems can reduce workload, but drivers remain responsible for monitoring the road and should assess calibration during a test drive. The D9's sheer size also deserves attention: at 5250mm long and 1960mm wide, it needs more parking space than a conventional family SUV, and its weight can affect tyre wear and efficiency. Its minimum luggage area is useful with all seats occupied, while folding seats opens a much larger load space.

Australian buyers can select Eclipse Black, Alpine White, Lapis Blue or Moonstone Grey, with Lapis Blue and Moonstone Grey restricted to the AWD. Pricing and optional-paint charges should be confirmed at order because on-road costs vary by location. Denza supports the D9 through its Australian retail network, with local vehicle and battery warranty coverage, roadside assistance and scheduled servicing arrangements. Overall, the D9 is a compelling specialist choice: exceptionally comfortable and well equipped, with practical electric range, but large enough that home parking, charging access and everyday manoeuvrability should be checked carefully before purchase.
