2026 CUPRA Terramar Price in Australia

The CUPRA Terramar is a medium SUV that broadens CUPRA Australia's range with a mix of mild-hybrid, turbo-petrol and plug-in-hybrid powertrains. At 4,519mm long, 1,863mm wide and 1,584mm high, it is sized for family use without becoming cumbersome in Australian urban environments. Its design uses CUPRA's current shark-nose front treatment, distinctive lighting and copper-accented details to create a more athletic appearance than many conventional family SUVs.

The range begins with the Terramar S, which uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance. It produces 110kW and 250Nm, drives the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG and has an official combined fuel-consumption figure of 5.7L/100km. The Terramar V moves to a 150kW 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and AWD, while the VZ raises output to 195kW for buyers wanting stronger performance.

The VZe provides the electrified flagship alternative. Its 1.5-litre turbo-petrol plug-in-hybrid system produces 200kW and drives the front wheels. CUPRA Australia lists combined fuel consumption of 0.5L/100km under the applicable laboratory test, although real-world petrol use depends heavily on charging frequency and trip patterns. The plug-in system is particularly attractive to owners who can charge regularly and complete shorter daily journeys using electric energy.

Practicality is helped by a slide-adjustable second row. CUPRA lists 508 litres of boot capacity for the Terramar V, increasing to 642 litres with the rear seats moved forward. Exact luggage capacity varies by powertrain because hybrid components affect packaging. Five seats are standard across the range, making the Terramar a direct rival for mainstream and premium medium SUVs rather than a seven-seat family vehicle.

Australian equipment is strong even on the S. Official MY26 material lists a 12.9-inch touchscreen with navigation, 10.25-inch digital cockpit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, three-zone climate control, a head-up display, 360-degree camera, heated power front seats and a broad driver-assistance suite. Higher grades add larger wheels and performance-focused equipment, while options such as a panoramic roof and upgraded audio or upholstery are available on selected versions.

The Terramar's wide powertrain spread is both a strength and something buyers should evaluate carefully. The S prioritises fuel efficiency, the V and VZ provide AWD traction and stronger petrol performance, and the VZe offers plug-in capability but remains front-wheel drive. For Australian buyers seeking a distinctive medium SUV with a sophisticated cabin and several levels of electrification, the Terramar is a flexible choice, provided the selected drivetrain matches the owner's charging access, performance expectations and intended use.
